ANKARA
Turkish police teams on Friday arrested 17 people over their alleged links to the far-left MLKP terror group, said sources.
In an operation based in the capital Ankara, the suspects were arrested under a probe launched by the Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau, said a statement by prosecutors.
Out of 23 suspects, 17 were arrested, and a search is underway to catch the remaining suspects.
The MLKP was founded in 1994 and was added to Turkey’s active terror list in 2007.
The terrorist group is responsible for many attacks in Turkey and northern Syria, including the 2004 bombing of a public bus in Istanbul that killed three civilians.
