The coronavirus pandemic has reshaped the world through the unprecedented way it has impacted every aspect of daily life. Governments across the world issued restrictions on public events, including funerals, weddings, and religious gatherings in a bid to stem the spread of the virus. Wearing a surgical mask, social distancing, and hand hygiene have become core strategies in this fight against the invisible enemy.
In a post-pandemic world, we might need to continue to adjust to the “new normal” which has forced many businesses to embrace digital technologies and unorthodox Covid-related innovations. One of those innovative steps includes a modified form of prayer mats.
Cleaning brand Dettol, in collaboration with advertisement agencies Impact BBDO and BBDO Pakistan, has designed a large “tear-proof” prayer mat which is wide enough to maintain social distancing during Friday prayers at mosques.
The 180 cm wide green and white color rugs contain a message with Urdu calligraphy imprinted amongst its motif that encourages worshippers to maintain a safe distance while praying.
The social distancing prayer mats can be easily folded and used several times.
